cars & trains - Intimidated By Silence

Portland multi-instrumentalist Tom Filepp makes wonderfully melodic music with electronics, found sound samples, and regular old instruments on cars & trains’ new album The Roots, The Leaves. With a heavy experimental vibe, a la The Books, and a hint of hip-hop, this stuff speaks to me.

In addition to the LP, cars & trains has released a free companion album of remixes entitled, appropriately, The Roots, The Remixes. Get them both from Portland-based “label, online magazine, and local artist community” Circle into Square.
